In French 220 you will study authentic materials, including a comic strip, two short novels, two films, and other media, to help you gain linguistic proficiency and cultural literacy. You will practice the three modes of language communication: Reception (listening, reading), Interaction (spoken interaction, written interaction) and Production (spoken production, written production). At the end of the course, you should have enriched the range of your vocabulary, gained accuracy, improved your fluency, acquired historic and cultural competence and increased your ability to understand the French language in a cultural context.
